This morning started like any other with our typical hotel breakfast. After eating, we walked to Kyoto Station and took the JR train - Nara line two stops to the Inari stop. Inari is the starting location of our hike, and it is well known for possessing hundreds if not thousands of torii or gates. Many of the shrines we came across included statues of bibbed stone foxes, and Alexis took pictures of them as we did the hike. The hike is considered easy in difficulty, and by the time we reached the peak we increased in elevation 233 meters. What was very surprising is that people of all ages do the hike ranging from young school children all the way to people who are 70+. We reached the peak and got back to the station in about 2.5 hours. We took a wrong turn on our way down and ended up walking around in the city before reaching the train station.
